"Because you don't need to sacrifice your performance for your appearance"
Types of Body armour that are available from Performance Armour are listed below.
Arms
Floating elbows, that are typically either padded and then strapped with a single-strap across the crease of the elbow, pointed to your gambeson, or rivited to a modern elbow-pad.

Available creased or rounded. with your choice of
fan-shapes.

Manufactured from 16 Guage Mild or Stainless Steel, with brass rivits holding on a fan of your choice.

Vambraces protect the lower arm between the elbow and the wrist.  These vambraces are created in the style of mid 15th century arm protection in the interest of providing full rigid forearm protection for combat re-creation.  (They also work well as stand-alone costume items.)

These vambraces are manufactured from 16 guage mild steel,  16 guage Stainless Steel, or .050 titanium.   The leather hinge articulation can be replaced with stainless steel hinges for $5.  This is a type of armour that works well with integrated hooks for closure as well (see the decorative  treatments section for details.)
Vambraces
Titanium Vambraces with etched and inlaid Griffin.  $275 as shown.
If you fight with a great weapon. . . rigid vambraces are a must.  This design works well for a number of different time periods and personas, and can be effectively dressed up with a wide variety of treatments.  Think about rolled or roped edges, fluting, etching, inlay, or leather trim.  Try titanium vambraces and you'll never go back. . . these executed in TI weigh 1/3 their mild steel counterparts!!!

Vambraces            $80/pr     $150/pr     $200
These elbows are identical to our floating elbows, with the addition of a single lame of articulation in each direction.  This approach to elbow armour increases the amount of protection provided by the elbows, and also provides the option to utilize two straps to hold the elbows on, rather than a single strap in the crease of the elbow.

These elbows are manufactured from 16 guage mild steel, 16 guage stainless steel, or a 16 guage stainless steel center cop with .040 titanium lames and all have your choice of
fan-shapes.
Two-Lame Elbows
2 lame elbows, shown in stainless steel with simple spade fans in a high polish.  $102.00 as shown.
These elbows provide good full-coverage protection of the elbow  joint, and are period appropriate up until the more enclosed designs of the 1500s.  Add contrasting rivitwork, or brass applique on the wing, or leather trim around ends of the lames for an even more impressive look.

Two-Lame Elbows         $85/pr             $135/pr      $175
Full arms consist of two-lame articulated elbows (with your choice of fan-shapes, as always), attatched to ridgid vambraces, and rearbraces.  This provides full plate protection for your arm from shoulder to wrist.

Full arms are manufactured from 16 guage mild steel, 16 guage Stainless steel, or 14 guage stainless elbow cops with all remaining armour elements made from .050 titanium.
Full Arms
titanium Full arms with Rondels, and high polish, $400 as shown.
If you need complete protection on your arms, this is what you're looking for. . . trying for the "full-plate" look?  recreating a persona from a time/location that full-armour is the norm?  These are the arms for you. . . any or all of the above. . . and don't want to sacrifice the performance edge (you'll be surprised by how much the speed of your weapon is effected by the weight of your arm harness) of light arm-armour?  Try a titanium arm-harness, approximately 1/3 the weight of mild steel!

Full Arms              $225/pr   $350/pr     $400
Articulated elbows, attached to leather upper and lower arms. We then attach either stainless steel or titanium splints to the outside of the leathers, and ABS splints to the inside of the leathers.

Comfortable, Flexible, Light, and good protection too. . . these were the prototypical form of protection in the late 12th and early 13th centuries, and are truly striking in appearance.

As always, available in your choice of surface polishes, and with your choice of wing shapes (or wingless, as in the picture)
Splinted Arms
Black leather splinted arms, with titanium splints and lames, and plastic splints inside. Highly polished, $395 as shown.

Bazubands are a middle-eastern style of one-piece arm defense.  They consist of a single vambrace that is extended past the elbow, and cupped around the elbow to protect from all three sides.  a wrapping plate covering the lower forearm completes the protection.

Bazubands are manufactured from 16 guage mild steel, or 16 guage Stainless steel.
Bazubands
Shown are Stainless Steel Bazubands Strapped, and with a leather hinge.
Highly-flexible, and fast (due to the lack of articulation), these are the perfect arm protection for a middle-eastern persona.  Add roping, etching, or inlay to these for a truly impressive look.
