Performance Armour
"Because you don't need to sacrifice your performance for your appearance"
Body
Armour
This is a piece styled very similarly to some of the churburg finds.  It consists of a three part breastplate, articulated between each plate, a single plate on each side for  rib protection, and a rigid backplate high enough to cover the kidneys.

These Breast & Back plates are manufactured from 16 guage mild steel, 18 guage Stainless Steel, or .040 titanium.   The titanium version of this weighs so little that you'll forget you're wearing a full breast & backplate.
Churburg Breast & Back
Shown in high-polish mild steel, with upgraded button-head rivits, and decorative rivitwork.
This is a very elegant look for a mid-period persona, and is a remarkably comfortable and flexible form of torso protection.  This type of armour looks  outstanding with an upgrade to button head rivits, and some decorative rivitwork.  Other appropriate treatments  would include rolled or  roped edges, and a variety of Etching or inlay treatments.

Churburg Breast & Back          $400$275        $750$800
The placard is later-period style of armour that is designed to protect the softer parts of the torso, while leaving the frontal part of the ribs and upper chest uncovered.  The placard includes plates that protect the floating ribs and lower on your sides, and a rigid one-piece low-rise backplate to protect your kidneys.

Our placards are available in three different shapes, a smoothly pointed shape, a scalloped point, and a rounded  shape.  They are manufactured from 16 guage mild steel, 18 guage stainless steel, or .040 titanium.  A titanium placard sized for a 40 in waist weighs  less than 3 lbs!
Placard
Highly polished Rounded titanium placard with decorative brass rivitwork.   $450.00 as shown
Placards can make a nice look for later-period personas, particularly when you're looking for minimal armour protection to increase your speed and/or flexibility.  On placards, you should think about having rolled or stepped and rolled edges, fluting, and/or decorative rivitwork done.  These will really stand out and look spectacular against a rich or darkly colored gambeson.

These Breast & Back plates serve two different purposes. . . highly appropriate for an early-period persona when made from metal and worn exposed, but small and close-fitting to the body so that they could be worn under clothing for time periods where rigid chest protection is inappropriate.

We suggest the plastic for concealed wear, and titanium for wear on the outside.  Polish this up, have it engraved, add decorative rivitwork or contrasting metal edging for a really impressive look.

Highly recommended for loaner gear as well, the strap arrangement allows this style to fit a number of different sized individuals while also providing the solid protection everyone would like to see for beginning fighters.

For those of you who are like me, and have begun to look a little more "prosperous" around the middle ;-). . . this is a style of breastplate that you will find to be very very comfortable.  It's designed to give a little more "gut" room to those of us who need it, while also providing -excellent- glancing surfaces.

These Breast & Back plates are manufactured from 14 guage mild steel, or 16 guage Stainless Steel.
Globose Breast & Back
Highly polished mild-steel globose breast&back , shown strapped and buckled with an integrated stop rib, $510 as shown.
A globose breastplate with a rigid backplate provides excellent and very comfortable torso protection.  (it coincidentally provides some very nice glancing surfaces on the breastplate)  Dress this up with rolled or roped edges, brass applique, etching, or inlay work.
