Coat of Plates
Coat of plates are available from Performance Armour in a startling array of different styles and materials.
As with all of our other products, these are designed and constructed to your size and specification.
We typially recommend ABS plates for inside the COP, and then either titanium or stainless plates for the outside (titanium for strength and weight savings, stainless for cost savings. . the appearance is essentially identical.
Suede leather looks an awful lot like period-correct velvet (but is much more durable), or go for fullgrain leather, or canvas. All are available in a wide array of colors.
Choose between silvertone or brasstone speed rivets on every COP, or switch out the speed rivets for solid brass or stainless buttonhead rivets. . . or for the ultimate in authenicity: hand-headed arming nails.
For those looking for a more authentic COP, also consider having the inside lined with fabric (thereby sandwiching the plates between the external layer, and and interior layer of cloth), this also makes the COP a bit more comfortable to wear.
