A barrel helm, in the style of the "Edward the Black Prince" barrel. Constructed entirely from stainless steel, with 12 gage stainlss on the top 1/2 of the helm (all the commonly struck surfaces), and 16 gage below.
This style of helm is perfect for mid-period fighters, with 12th/13th century European backgrounds. Also the classic helm for templar and crusader personas.
We make these helms with fully welded construction for strength, but can add back in either stainless or brass rivetwork to more closely match the appearance of historical examples.
These helms provide a -lot- of surface for decoration, so let yourself go wild! Household devices cut out in the breaths, Personal emblems engraved and inlaid elsewhere on the helm.
On the example to the right, we even played around a bit with working the cross into the design of the eyeslot.
We can make these either with, or without, the vertical opening shown to the right. It is not a strictly historical interpretation of this type of helmet, but it is stylistically appropriate, and -vastly- improves airflow into and out of the helm.
A Highly Polished Perfomance GreatHelm shown, with custom breath-hole cutouts, Heavy Brasswork, and brass-filled engraving.
