Sallet

A sallet built to Performance Standards. 

Performance Sallets begin with a 10g stainless blank, then we shape the top (nominal thickness after shaping, 12g) and then weld a solid-stock crestline to the top of the helmet (making for nearly 3/4" of solid stainless steel over the top of your head!).

Then we add on a standard lobstertail, with a vertical slat-back underneath (this insures that no shots can sneak up under the tail of your helmet, and it also makes it considerably easier to pad the helmet for comfortable wear, while maintaining that airflow to the back of your head & neck)

and then we create your choice of faceplates, and fit them to the side pivots on the helmet, and away you go!

This helmet is standard with interchangeable faceplates, so you have the option of a single helmet for multiple disciplines, much as with our Bascinets.

You can replace the standard strap and  buckle closure on this helm with spring pins, and we encourage you to add a bevor as well.  (the bevor can even be integrated into the rest of the helm, should you so choose.)

We have also begun to offer this helmet in 16g stainless steel, 14g mild steel, and 18g mild steel as well.

A custom Stainless Steel Bevor (this is the -high- model, above is the -low- model), with brass trimwork shown.  This type of bevor could be either worn as a stand-alone, or attached to the visor of the sallet.  Note that we always add an SCA-specific backplate to the bevor to ease any marshallate concerns that may arise regarding coverage for the back of the neck..
