Powdercoating is a process whereby dry pigment epoxy powders, colored appropriately, are deposited in a precisely even coat over the surface of the metal by static electric deposition. The pigments are then heated in a special high-temperature oven, causing them to melt together. This forms a precisely even layer of epoxy over the entire surface of the metal. While epoxy powdercoating holds up 3-5x as well as paint, it will still need to be retouched from time to time.
